A Parable
When I entered the space, I could see right away that it was gray and listless. Its people had existed there, but never seen it for the being that it was. It had not experienced nurturance or reciprocity. Corners and hollows contained drifts of sadness and carelessness.
We greeted the place and honored it. We sat and listened to it until we had a sense of how it felt, and who it might like to become. We gave it some physical care, and then we sang to its spirit in many ways. We offered it the nourishment of healing energy, and opened a pathway for its pain to dissolve and disperse.
Afterwards, we gifted it with beauty. We praised it. We showered it with gratitude, acknowledging our mutual dependence, and celebrating our ongoing relationship with place.
Now the space is radiant. Anyone can feel it. We love to be there, and we love to admire it, and to sense and meet its needs as it continues to meet our needs in an evolving spiral of connection.

Land healing and space clearing are rooted in the truth that place has beingness. Neither the walls of our homes nor the trees that form the walls of nature's rooms are mere stuff. In fact, they are not only beings in and of themselves, but also layers of our own selves. They express our awareness of the world beyond our skin, and our willingness to care for the whole of it.
